I hear this question often…“When should I exercise? Is it when my medication is “on” and I feel motivated? Or should I try to exercise when my symptoms are bad, because then I challenge my body to push through the struggle?” Well seeing as I teach fitness classes for those with movement disorders, and I have Parkinson’s disease myself, you might think that I am about to share with you such a powerful answer, which will change your whole existence…but I am not. Not because I am stingy or just trying to be mean, it’s because we are all snowflakes! No two Parkies are the same. Our bodies, lifestyles, resources and environment make our illness unique to us… like designer jeans. But I’m not leaving you up the Parkie creek with no paddle. I will give you some helpful hints on my next blog, so get your sweatbands and leg warmers ready! Time for a poll!
