Perky’s Pick-Stamina Compact Strider

October 12, 2016 By: PerkyParkiecomment

Let’s face it, sometimes I just don’t want to leave my couch. It’s almost as if the cushions become a vortex, pulling me back into its cozy fluffiness. It also doesn’t help that my dog Crash has magical snuggle powers. I believe that he flicks his supernatural dander dust on me which then turns me into a lazy, binge watching Netflix, cake-eating creature.

But what if you had a way that you could sit on your couch, watching the complete series of “Breaking Bad” while exercising at the same time? Oh yes, my friends…. you aren’t dreaming, because today I will be reviewing the Stamina E3000 InMotion Compact Strider.

Stamina products website describes the strider:

“You can use the InMotion Compact Strider just about anywhere, sitting or standing. This versatility allows you to pedal while you’re at the office or during a more intense workout at home – it’s your choice. Plus, the resistance tubes allow you to work your upper body as well, just like a full-sized elliptical.”

Sounds exciting… I was psyched to give it a whirl. It was time to put this strider through the Perky Parkie test and this is what I found…

Pros:

-Once I got into a rhythm, the strider was easy to pedal and was adjustable based on my strength… which by the way, rivals the Hulk.

-The strider works great to promote circulation, which can be an issue for some Parkies who experience rigidity.

-You don’t have to leave your home to get your exercise in. But I highly suggest you do… life is too short to stay indoors.

-If you are feeling adventurous, you can use the strider standing up, which requires good balance and a strong core.

Cons:

-It does require some assembly. But if you can put together an Ikea bookshelf, you will have no problems assembling the strider… plus you will have my respect, Ikea furniture is the devil.

-The strider is heavy… 24lbs heavy to be exact. This makes it a challenge to move around.

-There is not an easy way to store the strider when not in use. The strider defiantly doesn’t fold and fit under the bed alongside your rogue dust bunnies.

-You must use the right chair with the strider, something that doesn’t roll or move, along with the right height to promote good posture while exercising.

-The resistance bands only came in one size. If the resistance was too strong, there was no way to adjust the bands.

Overall the Stamina E3000 InMotion Compact Strider provides a healthy workout for all levels of fitness. You can do it from your chair, standing up or even working a long day at the office, as demonstrated by my colleagues. Aren’t they just adorable?

As Parkies, we know that everyday will be a guessing game as to how you will be feeling. You wake up in the morning and spin that wheel. What will it land on? Maybe rigidity, tremor, freezing… or… maybe you will hit the jackpot with slower than a geriatric slug on a salted snowed-in […]
